Happy Father's Day, Happy 4th of July, and Happy Summer! βοΈ
Wowβso much to celebrate and so much delicious food to enjoy from the grill!
A friend recently invited us to a backyard games day and potluck BBQ, and it got me thinking π€ about what I love most about summer gatherings.
One thing I've learned over the years is that health and well-being aren't found only in what's on our plate.
They're found in gathering with family and friends. They're found in laughter, connection, shared memories, "talk story" (as we say here in Hawaii), sunshine, movement, and sharing a meal together.
As summer unfolds, many of us will find ourselves around a grill, bringing dishes to potlucks, or enjoying backyard BBQs. The good news? Summer foods naturally lend themselves to simple, vibrant, and delicious meals.
Think colorful vegetables, fresh herbs, wild-caught fish, organic proteins, juicy sweet fruits, and easy recipes that let the ingredients truly shine.
These next few weeks, let's celebrate the joy of summer, with a few fresh ingredients and a hot grill, you can create meals that are flavorful, fun, satisfying, and leave you feeling your best.
Whether you're hosting a backyard gathering or bringing a dish to share, these favorite recipes of mine, celebrate some of the best flavors of the BBQ season.
